Elizabeth began her career in user experience design in San Francisco in the late '90s when she joined the staff at the pioneering consultancy, Cooper, leading projects in domains including medical devices, enterprise software, online shopping and products merging industrial and interaction design.
Following Cooper, Liz spent five years leading the user experience design efforts at St. Jude Medical, a Fortune 100 medical device company. Her efforts helped to transform the product development of in-clinic cardiac rhythm management systems to focus on nurses as the primary hands-on user, gaining St. Jude Medical market share in the process.
In 2007, Liz co-founded Devise LLC to provide agile UX consulting services in the areas of user research, interaction design and software development for clients ranging from start-ups to Fortune 100 companies. At the start of 2012, Liz began working as a product manager for the nation's second largest largest hospital system. She has been thrilled to apply her talents towards defining and delivering innovative products and services in this vital industry.
Liz is passionate about the power of IxD to better the world. She is a Director Emeritus of the Interaction Design Association (IxDA), a professional organization devoted to improving the human condition. Additionally, Liz has been granted multiple patents, taught workshops and spoken at conferences. Meanwhile, she's always noodling on ideas, writing poems, or dreaming of her next event at the race track.
