Serial entrepreneur Richard Branson is taking on the publishing industry with the new digital-only magazine Project, a hip collection of design, entertainment, technology and culture stories – think Wired+GQ+Rolling Stone. Bold move? Yep. Smart move? Hell yep. While one cannot predict Project’s success, it certainly looks like the future of publishing.
Adding drama to the story, it appears that Project is scooping media mogul Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp., which is rumored to be releasing its own iPad magazine in the coming months.
