In his half day workshop on "Buy-in For UX Research", Tomer Sharon will demonstrate techniques for conducting user research, collaborating with stakeholders, and effectively presenting research results - because no one wants their research report to be relegated to cold storage. The hands-on workshop is designed for user experience and usability research practitioners (both designers and researchers) and people who wish to learn and share their knowledge to make sure UX research is engaging software engineers, product managers, and executive management. Tomer is a User Experience Researcher at Google Search and author of the book, It's Our Research. Our first New York City event was fabulous. Highlights? Hmmmmm, it's hard to condense them into one paragraph, but here goes: Fred Armisen (pictured at right), Carrie Brownstein, Claire Evans, Blake Callaway and Oregon Film's Vince Porter for "Portlandia: The Story Behind the Series", keynotes by Louis Rosenfeld, Nathan Shedroff and Luke Williams, who closed the show with "Disrupt! Sparking Business Transformation with Disruptive Thinking", a productive Hackathon for Social Good, awesome presentations in the Business Innovation and Education Lab, fantastic workshops, a Portlandia-themed wrap party with a presentation by Mark Shapiro of LAIKA studios and free drink tickets provided by the Team Oregon trade group!
