Robert is a Director of Strategic Technology Development at the NYC Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications.
His work – and that of the Office of Strategic Technology Development (OSTD) – is dedicated to enhancing technology-led civic innovation throughout New York City government. It is aimed especially at creating, encouraging, and supporting modes of open collaboration that draw on the power of various communities to help the City fulfill the public trust: to save money, provide services, and improve lives In his role, he works closely with NYC Digital and the NYC Economic Development Corporation.
Some of the projects for which OSTD is solely and jointly responsible include: NYC Open Data, NYC SHARE, Change by Us NYC, NYC Rules (forthcoming), NYC Spark (forthcoming).
His previous experience includes working in constituent communications and technology development for the NYC Office of the Mayor and teaching philosophy at The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science in Art in New York City.
