Mark Trammell designs things and studies how people use them—most recently as senior design researcher at Twitter. His work on the Web spans 16 years including coauthoring two books on Web standards and tenures with Digg, PayPal, the Web Standards Project Educational Task Force, the University of Florida, and the United States Navy. Trammell's work at Twitter focused on how people learn Twitter, #NewTwitter, photos, and search.
While leading the University of Florida Web presence, he taught user-centered design and started a comprehensive design research program. His facial hair has been named Best Beard in Tech, Best Beard of SXSW 2011, and is champion of the @BrianWilson38 Beard Bracket.
Trammell lives and wanders in San Francisco.
