Stefan Sagmeister formed the New York based Sagmeister Inc. in 1993 and has since designed for clients as diverse as the Rolling Stones, HBO, and the Guggenheim Museum. Having been nominated eight times he finally won two Grammies for the Talking Heads and Brian Eno & David Byrne package designs. He also earned practically every important international design award.
In 2008 a comprehensive book titled Things I have learned in my life so far was published by Abrams. Solo shows on Sagmeister Inc’s work have been mounted in Paris, Zurich, Vienna, Prague, Cologne, Berlin, New York, Miami, Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, Tokyo, Osaka, Seoul and Miami. He teaches in the graduate department of the School of Visual Art in New York and lectures extensively on all continents.
Carolyn has been working in the field of User Experience Design for over 16 years, as a consultant and practice leader for companies such as Open Text and Manifest Digital. Now an independent consultant, her areas of specialty include design strategy, team workshops, interaction design, information architecture, and user research and modeling. She has co-authored A Project Guide to UX Design with Russ Unger (now in its second edition) and Adventures in Experience Design with Anna van Slee. Due to her work in teaching and mentoring students and start-ups, Carolyn was named one of "Chicago's Tech 50" by Crain's Magazine.
Sarah started her career in interaction design in 1991 at the Yale Center for Advanced Instructional Media, creating award-winning interactive instructional software. She was an instructional technologist at Dartmouth College for 11 years before becoming Director of Web Strategy and Design. She is a renowned author of four books on web design and accessibility whose latest book is A Web for Everyone: Designing Accessible User Experiences.
Hazel Jennings is Instagram’s first content strategist. Previous gigs include Hotwire.com, and a bunch of start ups in Pittsburgh, PA. She’s also a filmmaker, feminist and minimalist living in a 200 sq. ft studio apartment.
Mona combines positivity, timeless wisdom, sharp design thinking and a little bit of magic glitter with her 15 years of experience in design and research to help you see around corners and realize a kind of success you didn’t necessarily expect. She started Motivate Design in 2009 to create a place where clients could get what they want, rather than what an agency needs to sell. She teaches design research and strategy at Parsons The New School for Design and balances her hypersonic speed by being a certified yoga instructor. She holds a M.S. in Marketing Communications from Boston University and a B.S. in Engineering Psychology from Tufts University.
