Nate is the co-founder of Bolt | Peters, author of Remote Research, and creator of Ethnio, which is a web app being used around the world to recruit live participants for research. He has overseen UX research and design for Sony, Wikipedia, Volkswagen, Rdio, Electronic Arts, and others.
Nate gives talks about research and design in both commercial and academic settings, including a recent keynote for the Urban Libraries Council. Last century, he worked with faculty at the University of California, San Diego, to create a degree titled “The Social Impact of Digital Technology,” which combined Cognitive Science, Sociology, and Computing in the Arts. He is the grand prize winner of the Information Architecture Institute explanation of Information Architecture prize for a stop motion video with a dinosaur family, and he completed a year of communications studies at the Sorbonne in Paris, where he was jailed briefly for playing drums in public without a license.
