Just in time for Monday, a new model of the universe proposes that the universe’s age is infinite but its space is finite. According to a paper authored by Ahmed Farag Ali and Saurya Das, their model avoids singularities (such as the Big Bang or ‘big crunch’) by mapping the universe with Bohmian trajectories, which never cross each other, versus classical geodesics, which do eventually cross.
In physical terms, the model sees the universe as filled with a quantum fluid – possibly composed of gravitons, massless particles that are connected with the force of gravity. If true, we can stop looking for dark matter and dark energy and just try to remember where we put the damn car keys.
