This week, we met up with iconic journalist and radio personality Byron Beck at Portland’s East Bank Esplanade. Byron serves up the latest gossip, news, rants and raves and unless you live in a trailer down by the river, you’ve probably heard of Byron.
As part of WebVisions’ Dangerous Thinkers series, we invited Byron to test Google Glass. We wanted to get his honest reaction, give him a chance to play and explore, and just see the happiness (or cantankerousnous) that might ensue. We weren’t disappointed (caveat: Byron likes to drop a few word bombs, so beware).
“It’s like Siri is sitting on my face.”
— Byron Beck
The gist: Mixed reviews. Without giving away any spoilers, Byron thinks Google Glass is an interesting technology. However, the novelty wore off fairly quick.
