WebVisions is all about creative ways for designers and coders to make the world a better place. We’re big fans of the hackathon model: pairing up do-good non-profits with talented techies who can rock a site or an app that makes life easier for those who put good into the world.
In the US, the general idea is to help these organizations by getting them plugged in to newer, shinier tech. But that’s not always possible elsewhere, especially in places where old school tech is all that’s available.
So you roll with what you’ve got, which can make for some unique challenges. The cool part? Designers and coders have to be just as creative to solve problems, with the added layer of having to do so within the constraints of 2G, high latency and low-end handsets. (more…)
